“Brooke was such a wonderful and patient trainer. My dog is super high energy and she took on that challenge in his puppy stages. She was punctual and consistent in following up on previous training sessions; ensuring we were practicing here at home and then deep diving into what the doggos struggles were. Really enjoyed partnering with her and learning! I learned what causes my dogs anxiety and all the related behaviors. Not to mention how to effectively help change those behaviors.
My dog no longer barks at nothing, he’s gotten used to loud noises, he sleeps more, he doesn’t chew on rug ends or shoes, he’s more at ease and obeys when to stay in his special spot on his special blanket until he’s called on command.”

“An excellent and well thought out program; Brooke had a wonderful relationship and bond with our dog. The training exposed us to have more insight and understanding of our dog and how to better relate. Brooke was awesome. [My dog is] more calm, more responsive and much more in control as well as enthusiasm to learn and please us with her behavior.”

“I very much enjoyed how you conducted your sessions and the science/expertise you used to help me get Wallace to see massive improvements concerning his discomfort with external noises and house guests. You listened very well, had fantastic feedback, and I enjoyed the extensive questioning to understand the specific behaviors and “issues” Wallace had. I very much appreciated the details you went into. You also expressed a lot of support between training sessions to make sure I felt good about the new training plans.
I mentioned to Brooke that I felt like a lot of trainers I worked with before did not acknowledge the fact that Wallace had anxiety which inhibited his ability to listen or hear me during times of extreme discomfort which led to no growth. Brooke did a wonderful job in explaining why we were not seeing any improvements and helping me figure out a balance schedule that could ease a lot of Wallace’s worries. A lot of other trainers also did not worry about Wallace’s reactiveness because he is a “small” dog, which I found to be unsettling. I appreciated that Brooke and I both agreed that all dogs should be as comfortable in their environments as they can be and that owners are very much responsible for creating that environment. Brooke was also great with setting expectations and being honest. Naturally, Dachshunds can be anxious and one of the issues I wanted to work with her was his behavior when we have house guests. Because of the behaviors that Wallace showed around house guests, she explained to me that even with training he will most likely not be the type of dog that runs up to people/dogs to become friends with everyone. Though I do not need this from Wallace, I appreciated her honesty about what I can expect from him and what we can accomplish within our sessions together.
Wallace was not an aggressive dog, but he was highly reactive. Almost anything or anyone would set him off into a barking rage. With the help of Brooke, he was become more like the cutie little sausage dog I picked up a year and a half ago. He is WAAAYY less anxious. The most obvious [change] is the ability to settle faster and easier. He is also not spooked by random noises he used to be triggered by. He barks far less and warms up to people much faster (we still monitor his body language and let him move at his own pace, but we feel he is now more in the training zone than management zone).”

“Incredibly useful for helping new dog owners understand how to approach training —both “normal” skills and tackling trouble spots!”
